Humpty Dumpty Brownies

If Humpty Dumpty would be a brownie, he would exactly look like this brownie eggs:-)
For the Cake you can use any cake mix you like.
Just fill as much eggs you like, with the rest you can prepare some muffins.

Ingredients:

1 box cake mix (plus ingredients you need to prepare the cake)
blown out eggs (as much as you want)
sunflower oil

Directions:

1.          Prepare Cake mix like box description.

2.          Poke a small hole at the bottom of each egg, than peel back the
edges and expand it a little bit, to get out the yolk.
Now rinse the insides of the eggs with water.
Afterwards dry the eggs on a paper towel.
3.          Later on drizzle some sunflower oil in each egg.

4.          After step 3 you can fill your eggs with the batter.
I used a piping bag, which is much easier, but make sure, you
only fill your eggs half with the batter, otherwise the dough will
             spill out while baking.

5.          Bake the eggs at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes.

Zutaten:

1 Fertig Kuchenmischung (plus Zutaten zum Backen des Kuchens)
ausgeblasene Eier (so viele man möchte)
Sonnenblumenöl

Zubereitung:

1.          Kuchenmischung nach Packungsanleitung zubereiten.

5.          Die Eier bei 175°C ca. 15-20min. backen.

  3. How totally brilliant. I'd love to put these back in the egg carton in the fridge as a little prank. Who wouldn't love a surprise brownie egg?

  4. Beautiful idea...:)...I have 2 questions, one, won't the egg shells crack if we put them in an oven to bake and two, up to what level do you fill the egg shells with batter?

    1. Hi Anuradha Nayak, the first time I tried this recipe, I had the same idea, the shells could crack, trough the heat, but they don´t. Just fill the egg shells half with batter. Otherwise the batter will spill out while baking. Believe me, I went through all scenarios;-)
Let me know what kind experiences you made, baking them;-)

  5. Is it possible to do this with brownie mix? Or it must be cake mix? Also, is there another alternative to sunflower oil? It's pretty hard to find in the markets around me. This is a great idea and I'm excited to try it!

    1. Hi Anita, you can use any cake mix you like. Even a brownie cake mix or cheesecake works. For greasing the egg shells just use a normal oil, there is no need to work with sunflower oil. You can also use baking spray. If you have more questions, just let me know;-)
